Update USA - December, 2007. G'day again from Billings, Montana - once again its been a busy period since I last updated this site a couple of months ago - it hardly seems like any time since we returned from our trip to Australia when we were again off on another trip - this time to northern Germany at the invitation of one of Sandi's friends, Moni who was about to celebrate her birthday in December and wanted us to be there. We flew out of Billings on Monday December 1 in the evening and then spent most of the next day in Minneapolis as the weather was terrible and we looked like getting snowed in. However, eventually it got cleared (thanks a lot to the Minneapolis Airport Ground and Maintenance staff) and we got going to Amsterdam and then on to Hamburg where Sandi and Moni got re-united. We then lived in the Grenz Motel in Harrislee, for the 11 days that we were there. Harrislee is an affluent location and is adjacent to Flensburg which is a moderate sized town and is very picturesque with its old buildings and the Fiord which runs into the town center. I have included some pictures of general interest on the following pages. We enjoyed our visit and made some new friends and learned a little German. We also rented a small Mercedes and managed a trip into Denmark as it was only a short distance to the border where we were staying. It was interesting as most of the TV programs in Denmark are in English therefore the Danes understand English more than I expected. Anyhow, all good things come to an end and we flew back out of Hamburg on December 11th to Amsterdam and eventually to Minneapolis and Billings. To the many people we met and the friends we made let me try to say this: Dank jeder - Bis später. It
wasn't long from the time we returned until Christmas was upon us - we
had a relatively quiet one - the usual ham and turkey and eating too
much and the exchange of gifts. I think we each did very well and Sandi
and Duffy and I are very happy and looking forward to the new year. As I
write this it is New Years Eve here (its already New Year in Oz) its
cold and windy and good to be inside where its warm.
